And so the list grows another two new nuclear power plants in the pipeline to be built by 2014 in order to meet South Korea’s growing energy needs.
Our source tells us that the plans have already been approved by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. They are required by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and we will be constructed at Kori where work will commence this month and will take around six years to complete. They are both APR1400 lightweight reactors, which we are given to understand have a capacity to produce 1,400 megawatts.
It seems to be an almost daily occurrence that an announcement of this nature is made constantly adding to the demand curve for uranium.
