techdude,
In our humble opinion the Greens are losing this battle. They could reduce demand instantly if they were prepared to go without electricity for 2 days a week, but they wont.
The steam engine was greeted with similar fears in 1825. (ish)
We cant un-invent nuclear power and the weapons issue is a problem.
