It comes as a welcome relief to see the uranium stocks sector reverse the downward trend and stage a mini rally. Throughout this period of carnage which saw stocks losing 50% plus of their value it has been hard to hold on to theses stocks. Wrongly or rightly we decided to grin and bear it and not sell any of our stocks and subsequently register the associated loses. Our portfolio is battered and pales in comparison to our gold and silver portfolios. However we still believe in the nuclear future with the fundamental criteria for uranium being little changed. We could well look back on this period as the buying opportunity of a lifetime even though a victory looks improbable when you are on the ropes (read more…)

Anyone who has investments in the uranium sector as we do, would have felt the effect of yesterdays drop, and the decline in recent months. In our opinion, uranium stocks are currently massively undervalued and have been sold off regardless of their great fundamental long term outlook (read more…)

We are at a critical junction as many uranium stocks prepare to test the lows made in August 2007. Some uranium stocks have already broken this support but we are waiting to see if other stocks follow suit. Therefore the majority of our stocks are marked “Hold” as we wait to see how events unfold. The markets in general have suffered a sell off so far this year which has contributed to the sell off in uranium stocks although the severity of the sell off in this sector is difficult to understand (read more…)

To many investors it comes as some relief that the spot price for uranium registered a slight upturn recently as we can see on this chart courtesy of u3o8.com.

Uranium Chart:

Having been battered by both a market sell off and a U-turn in the spot price of uranium the bottom fishers have arrived and uranium stock prices are recovering mostly on increased volume.
The spot price is languishing at around $85/lb down from $105/lb last month. As we have written many times this is a thin market and the lack of trades sometimes produces a spot price based on estimates rather than hard facts (read more…)

Niger Uranium Limited makes its debut in London on the AIM Stock Exchange under the symbol URU.
Following the company’s incorporation a few moths ago, it has already acquired the Niger exploration properties of UraMin Inc and of NWT Uranium Inc (read more…)

Niger Uranium, a new uranium company is to be floated on the London Stock Exchange for around £40 million on 13th September 2007 according to Britain’s The Telegraph.
This company is a joint venture between Northwestern Mineral Ventures of Canada and UraMin who were recently bought by the French giant Areva (read more…)

The global market sell off took its toll on our portfolio of uranium stocks. It is a thin market so any sort of selling pressure hit home very hard. TradeTech’s spot price remains at $105/lb for U3O8 with deals being non-existent as all eyes are focused upon the recent auction results, which have yet to be made public (read more…)
